This is a story about a man who all his life did exactly as he pleased. And what he pleased to do was roam the deserts of the southwest to see what he could see. Like any true prospector, it was the looking he relished, not the finding. In the course of 60 years of wandering the deserts of the southwest, he was a beaver trapper, cattle rustler, bootlegger, house mover, storekeeper, moonshiner, ferryman, cowboy, showman, miner, aviator and fishing fleet operator. He was also an inventor, beachcomber, advisor to archeologists, dude wrangler, explorer, storyteller, powder monkey, joker, troublemaker and self-styled “old goat.”
